How do you feel when a team member wows a customer?

You smile, praise them, and then get back to your work - or something like that.

But deep down, if you really reflect on that moment of success, you likely feel just a bit more confident about your business (and yourself) than you did before.

So, how would you feel if a similar moment happened in your business dozens of times every week?

Happier and more confident in your team culture is my guess.

The reality is, those moments likely do happen in your business dozens of times every week.

Are you taking the time to see them, feel them and receive them?

I doubt it.

I never used to either.

Whenever a team member had a moment of success in my business, I'd praise them, but not receive the moment as a success for me, our business or our team culture - it was all about the individual team member.

At those times, I was too busy* thinking about myself, my long list of tasks to do and/or the problems I was burdened with as business owner.

My distraction and, embarrassingly, perceived self-importance, meant that I missed the opportunity to add to my confidence as a business owner.

I've learnt that those moments of success accumulate and help me be more confident in myself, my business and our team culture.

And when I feel confident in our team culture, I focus on the critical business owner work of building new relationships, bringing our vision to life and investing more in our existing people.

When I'm acting in a positive, confident way, so does my team.

The mood of the leader is infectious.

So, where are the confidence building moments happening in your business?

Find them and receive them.

Culture creates confidence.

Keep at it.
