A true test of a whether a business is headed for success is who is feeling the pressure.  Does the CEO / leadership team carry all the stress or is accountability passed on to team members at the coal face?

In my experience, the more time the leaders have on their hands, the better.

Leaders should be focussed on the future. Focussing on the future requires time to learn, time to think, time to read, time to recognise patterns and time to coach other team members.

Spending most days under pressure managing poor performance, putting out fires and sorting through emails is not leading.  Successful businesses have leaders with plenty of time on their hands.

The best leaders aren’t THAT busy.
